Frequently Asked Questions

What is HERESAI?

HERESAI is a trauma-informed legal organization platform. It helps self-represented litigants, survivors, advocates, and attorneys organize evidence, build chronological timelines, track incidents and visitation, document child impacts, and generate court-ready reports for family court cases.

Does HERESAI provide legal advice?

No. HERESAI is an organizational and educational tool — not a law firm. Using it does not create an attorney-client relationship, and nothing it produces is legal advice. For advice about your specific situation, consult a licensed attorney or a legal aid organization.

Is my evidence secure?

Yes. Files are stored in a private, encrypted vault that only you can access. Each upload is hashed (SHA-256) with a chain-of-custody record, and originals are preserved exactly as uploaded. For photos, HERESAI also creates a copy with location metadata removed, so you can share safely without revealing where a photo was taken.

Is HERESAI safe to use if someone monitors my devices?

HERESAI is designed with survivor safety in mind: a quick-exit button on every screen, private-by-design architecture, and no data selling — ever. That said, no app can make a monitored device safe. If your abuser may have access to your phone or computer, consider using a device they can't reach, browse in private mode, and clear your history. The National Domestic Violence Hotline (800-799-7233) can help with technology safety planning.

How much does HERESAI cost?

There's a free local-first mode where your data stays entirely on your device, and a Pro subscription that adds encrypted cloud storage, sync across devices, and collaboration features.

Who is HERESAI for?

Parents in custody cases, self-represented (pro se) litigants, domestic violence survivors, and the advocates, legal aid organizations, and attorneys who support them. If you're facing family court and drowning in screenshots, notes, and paperwork, HERESAI was built for you.

Can courts use reports from HERESAI?

HERESAI generates organized, timestamped reports from your logs and evidence — the kind of clear documentation courts respond to. Whether specific material is admissible depends on your state's rules of evidence. Check with your court's self-help center or an attorney, and see our court-ready evidence checklist.

Can my advocate or attorney access my case?

Yes. HERESAI is built for collaboration — you can share your case file with advocates and attorneys while keeping control of your own records.

Where do I start?

Two good first steps: browse the free guides in our Resource Center, or open the app and start your case file — it's free and works without an account.
